The CAI is circulating a letter to remind all CAI cable certification holders that as from the 1st of July 2017 the new CPR Regulations come into force. These regulations cover cables used permanently in buildings and civil engineering structures and made available on the market from 1st July 2017. Any existing stock held that has been placed on the market before CPR became applicable can continue to be sold without CPR credentials. (Each batch of cable is treated as a separate product for the purposes of CPR, so any new deliveries after 1st July will need CPR credentials)
Freeview is ramping up support and advice for viewers in Northern Scotland, ahead of the first retune event in the region. On 26 July 2017, parts of the Shetland Islands will have become the first to be affected by the frequency changes. From 2 August, the changes will start to affect parts of the mainland, spreading southwards in regional stages until the beginning of October. Viewers who lose channels will need to retune to restore them.
